Online Master’s Degrees in Animation
Upon completion of the program, students may seek employment or enroll in a doctoral program in animation. Graduates of master’s-level programs may seek employment in the entertainment industry, including areas of video games, film, or television.

The curriculum for master’s-level animation degree programs may include core animation courses as well as a handful of electives. These courses may teach students about all facets of animation and visual effects, ranging from conception to post-production. Examples of core animation classes may include the following:

- Computer-Generated Modeling
- Digital 3D Effects
- Animation Aesthetics
- Visual Storytelling
- Cinema, Animation, and Art
Graduates of master’s-level animation programs may typically find employment opportunities in the entertainment industry, or in advertising, publishing, or for software companies. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job availability in the animation field may increase by 8% from 2010-2020*.

- 3D Modeler
- Technical Director
Individuals who successfully complete a master’s degree program in animation may choose to further their education and enroll in a doctoral-level program in digital media. These research-heavy programs may utilize 3D animation as well as web and graphics software. Doctoral programs may also prepare students for positions in academia.
