Online Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics
Upon completion of the program, students may either seek upper-level employment or continue their studies by enrolling in a master’s degree program. Graduates of baccalaureate programs may gain employment in banking, insurance, government programs, investments, and portfolio management.

The curriculum for a bachelor’s in economics degree program may integrate general education requirements alongside core economics classes. These major courses may teach students how to identify market structure, formulate economic strategies, and analyze economic fluctuations. Core economics courses may include the following:

- Business Cycles and Growth
- Business Law
Baccalaureate-level graduates in economics may explore employment opportunities in investments, banking, insurance, government, and securities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities in economics are expected to increase by 6% from 2010-2020.*

Students who successfully complete bachelor’s degree in economics may have the opportunity to pursue a graduate degree. A master’s program in economics may provide students with enhanced analytical capabilities and polished quantitative analysis skills. Employers may require individuals to hold a bachelor’s degree at minimum to be eligible for employment in upper-level economics positions.
