Online Bachelor’s Degrees in Game Design
Once students complete the baccalaureate program, they may either seek entry-level employment or enroll in a graduate-level degree program. Graduates of these programs may find employment opportunities in video gaming, motion pictures, or television.

The curriculum for baccalaureate-level game design programs may include general education requirements in addition to core-specific courses. In these core courses, students may create story development, learn about the video game production process, and study prototyping. Core game design courses may include the following:

- Life Drawing and Gestures
- Texture Mapping
- Game Modeling
- Interface Design
Individuals who graduate from bachelor’s degree programs in game design may pursue job opportunities in motion picture or video game industries. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities in game design are expected to increase by 8% from 2010-2020*.

- Graphic Designer
Students who graduate from baccalaureate programs in game design may decide to further their education by enrolling in a graduate degree program. A master’s degree program in game design may provide students additional skills and training in graphics, story lines, and project development. Select employers may not require candidates to hold a degree although many prefer employees that have a strong portfolio and technical skills. Most students do opt for a bachelor’s degree program in computer graphics, art, game design, or related field.
