Bellevue College Narrows Down Presidential Search to Four Candidates

Bellevue college has long taken pride in its certain standard of excellence, always looking to the future instead of the now. Its students have an increasingly high success rate with the school graduating around 2500 students every year.

After over a year in waiting, following the resignation of their previous president, at last Bellevue College names their four finalists for president.

The four candidates for presidency are as follow:

Ronald T. Brown – Dr. Brown graduated from Emory University, after which he earned his doctorate degree in 1978. He serves as Provost and senior vice president of Wayne State University in Detroit.

Dr. Ronald T. Brown will be on campus Monday, October 22 for interviews and public forums.

Dr. Terrence J. Burgess – Burgess is currently the president of San Diego City College, a position he has maintained since 2001. Before his current presidency, Burgess served as president of Chabot College in Hayward, CA and before that he served as Vice President of Instruction with Irvine Valley College in Irvine, CA.

Dr. Terrence J. Burgess will be on campus Thursday, October 25 for interviews and public forums.

Jack E. Daniels, III – Daniels is president of Los Angeles Southwest College. He pride’s himself in being a strong advocate for student success, having previously been president of Lincoln Land Community College (IL) and Central College of the Houston Community College System (TX).

Dr. Jack E. Daniels will be on campus Wednesday, October 24 for interviews and public forums.

Dr. David Rule – Rule holds an A.S. in Performing from Schenectady County Community College, NY, a B.S. in Music Education and M.S. in Educational Psychology from The College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. He has been president at the PCC Rock Campus for 5 years.

Dr. David Rule will be on campus Tuesday, October 23 for interviews and public forums.

All four will participate in forums, set to begin today, October 22nd at 3:30 p.m. in the Carlson Theater at Bellevue College in Washington. Forums are open to all students, staff, and members of the community.
